Yay! The new version installed properly!
(It still launched that weird IE6-like browser instance after installing, but the install was successful.

@SupportGuy
please enable the adblocker by default again.
and improve the adblocker with the possibility to enter an adblocker update url to update the filter.ini automatically
and improve the standard adblock file.
remove big ad server like yahoo live and google from the whitlist and
add whitelist entry to make it possible to watch flash pages like acrobat.com and flash videos.
my filterlist solve all this problems.
and a div whitelist is also a good idea.

I for one, feel theeye3's suggestions are unnecessary.

No adblocker and no flash blocker and the version says 2.4 beta.
Adblocker and flash blocker seemed to be completelly removed both when right-clicking and when looking in the settings.
I've gone back to version 3 now, hoping that there aren't any nasty security issues with that one!
I'm using Vista 64 ultimate.

for one what?
the standard filter file is crap and out of date it needs weekly updates like the Adblocker in Firefox
for example pages likes acrobat.com are completly blocked by the standard filter.ini
and flash videos like
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/video/2 … n.zimbabwe
http://www.tmz.com/tmz_highlight_video
http://www.stern.de/video/600863.html
and many other sites are also blocked
@magnus101
yes version 2.4.4 disabled the adblocker. you have to enable the adblock module in the options

What was the bug related to, in case I want to stay with v2.4?
Thanks,

What's the deal with the AdBlocker? There's option to "enable" it under preferences, but "enabling" it, doesn't do anything
It looks like there is no adblocker in the updated version...
Edit: Ahhh, I'm not that bright, lol. I think it works when you restart the browser

I have managed to nail down the problem -
Due to some issues, the filter.ini file in the program files directory is not accessible.
When you try to open the file using the Explorer, you get an error message saying
Seems like an error while installing.
If you use any of the user's list, it will work fine.
