Tested RC2, here are some feedbacks:
- I like new animated icon for MiniDM but it doesn't give enough infos.
If you enable to open MiniDM silently in the systray without the main window it's quite difficult to understand if MiniDM catched the url when you start a download and there are no notifications at all if you add another download in the queue when there are urls already in queue.
Please add some notification toasts like "Filename.ext added to download queue", "Starting download of filename.ext" and "Dowload of filename.ext completed".
"All downloads completed" toast is too generic to be really understandable
- When you have automatic session restore option enabled, please make IE7Pro do not open an additional tab with the homepage (I think it's better to open homepage only when there are no sessions to restore, this behaviour is present also in Firefox).
- To improve the session manager, add a dedicated icon in the status bar where you can quickly open, save, rename, overwrite, etc. sessions. I'm using the FremyCompany session manager plugin, it works in that way and I find it very useful.
Also make an option to save and load sessions with no user interaction (I mean, no need to select a folder and a filename, just a window with a list of all already saved sessions with the ability to create new one or overwrite an old one, no matter where they are saved)
- I like the auto download button for https libraries but is it not simpler to add the libraries in the installer directly instead of have the need to download them with a button?
Thanks for your time and for this great piece of software ![]()

How works drag and drop to MiniDM?
When I drag a link to MiniDM nothing happens. Even when I open New task dialog. Am I doing something wrong?
The Drag'n'Drop in MiniDM means, that you can drag downloaded files directly from the MiniDM to your favorited program (for example if you wish to open an image in another program than the standard one)
It works perfect, thank you so much!

Enabling FasterIE crashes IE7 pretty regularly for me. Has done so since the second release which had it.
Faulting application iexplore.exe, version 7.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x47918f11, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6001.18000, time stamp 0x4791a7a6, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x000659c3, process id 0xcf4, application start time 0x01c8b9d7e6185e6e.

We think more infos may disturb users.

We can not find a solution to implement this until now. ![]()

We may do a toolbar to implement this.

Let's think about it.

This will enlarge the size of installer package.

Please use MiniDM to download the installer package.

Thanks Leeshi for commenting my feedback ![]()
- About the "we think more infos on miniDM may disturb users" I can agree with you and I suggest to implement notifications as an option and not as permament (so users can choose to enable or disable them in the minidm options window).
Some kind of "Verbose mode" as present in many other software tools
- About a toolbar for session manager, I think it wastes more navigation space then a simple icon in the bottom status bar because it needs a new line instead of using space already used by IE
- About the size of installer package if you include https libraries, they are less than 1 MB and in 2008, with most of users with ADSL connection, it means just 1 or 2 seconds of downloads more (infact it's quite common to find shareware/freeware programs around the web with size more than 10 MB) ![]()
Hope you will find a solution to fix homepage opening when session restored ![]()
Thanks for your time,
Prov
P.S.
Another little suggestion:
Sometimes I noticed that Ie7Pro oesn't recover tabs after a crash (I faced this behaviour with a sysfader crash that closed ie process too).
Same problem with auto restore session when you have more than one ie process opened.
If this is not fixable maybe it could be useful to have a session automatically saved every 1 or 2 minutes so the user will always have a second chance to get his session back (yo can name it "AutoSave" or similar) if auto restore doesn't work ![]()

To FremyCompany, provolino:
The sessionmgr plugin wrote by FremyCompany can do save session and load session as follows:
plugin.doAction(53); // save session
plugin.doAction(54); // load session.
BTW: Thanks for your suggestions.

And how to save more than one session with your way ?

It will prompt a dialog which let you select some one.

Maybe you should consider to add "SessionManager" plugin from FremyCompany in the installer ![]()

So, we can't have a list of all saved sessions... ![]()
