hi, does anybody know how to disable to way in which the spell check 'window' which opens over every word. its a pain, so would welcome suggestions

I'm not quite certain exactly what you're wanting. If I'm understanding you correctly, the only way to do what you're talking about is to disable the spell-checker in its entirety (IEPro Settings, disable "Spell Checker" module). The spell checker creates a field for the text-box that it is checking the spelling for (I'm not quite certain what you mean for each word). As it's how the way the spell-checker works, there isn't any way to really disable that part of it.

the issue is when i hover the mouse cursor over any word it opens a little window with a magnifying glass with an 'A' in it & several suggestions in a number of different languages. its this happening i'd like to disable if poss?

Hmm... sounds like you either have something else doing it, or your spell-checker is completely screwed up. The iepro spell-checker has only one mouse-over event, one that only happens over the entire text box (the three symbols in the corner). Would you mind posting a screen-shot of what it's doing?
