Be careful branding the bookmarks sync as a 'Live Service,' remember that MS owns a lot of copyrights on the word 'live.'

Definitely needed.
On the one hand, many of the cookies you get you do not want (otherwise cleaning them would not make much sense).
On the other hand, there are cookies, that are needed for specific reasons, so cookie cleaning without the ability to preserve those is not an acceptable option.

And: I don't see, why this should be not possible. There are tools out there, which do this as requested, so the possibility is not a question for me.

Well the issue is that some cookies are required to keep you logged on to a site.

For example, I have a Google homepage (iGoogle), and I like to stay logged in because I can get a quick view of my mail from there. If I delete all cookies, it deletes the Google cookie too, and then I have to log in each time I want to check my mail, etc.

Same for Yahoo! and other sites that have logins – even this forum!

I would love to have a cookie keeper, because I have tried cleaning programs with cookie keepers, but they are external programs, which use up additional RAM – a problem for people with fairly old computers. Some programs even require a purchase.

I am not complaining, I am just stating that since a cookie keeper is possible, why not implement it? It would remove the need to rely on external programs.

And as an extra, I have noticed that sometimes when I close IE7, my auto-complete (for address bar and search box) don't get cleared. This is only sometimes, perhaps even randomly. I believe another user who posted before me noticed the same thing. Can anyone else confirm this? I will definitely keep track.

Once again, great beta version! smile

In the Other section of Preferences, I think you should also credit FremyCompany for his excellent development of EasyHomepage.

So it would become : Thanks FremyCompany for his contribution on IE7Pro plugins and Easy Homepage.

It would also be better if the beta contained the latest version of Easy Homepage.

Re: IE7Pro 1.1 Beta 1 (Internal Beta Only)

Auto Clear IE Privacy Data

As reported in the alpha stage, "Clear Typed Address" does not work in Vista with IE7 in Protected Mode: On
It works correctly if IE7 is in Protected Mode: Off (not recommended or default)

"Clear History of Visited Websites" works correctly.

As I do not wish to lose data, I have not tested the other options.

Auto Clear IE7Pro Privacy Data

These items appear to work correctly.

As I stated at the alpha stage and others have mentioned in this thread, it is not useful to have cookie deletion without the ability to specify a "safe list" of cookies to keep.

Where does IE7Pro look for cookies?  Depending on whether it is XP, Vista and whether IE7 is in Protected Mode On or Off, the cookies are stored in different directories. Can the User specify a different path?

Re: IE7Pro 1.1 Beta 1 (Internal Beta Only)

I just want to put in a request for a "custom live bookmarks server".

I'd LOVE for ie7pro to allow me to specify my own HTTP or FTP server to pull my favorites from.  I do not use MSN "Live Bookmarks" or whatever it is, because I dont want a service holding and indexing my favorites.   Same goes for the makers of ie7pro.

However if I had a good program to pull that data from wherever *I* see fit, i would LOVE it.

Re: IE7Pro 1.1 Beta 1 (Internal Beta Only)

When using the text saver it works oké. But when I have my mouse on the text field (so I see the icons of the text saver) and go back in history the icons of the text saver will not disappear.

Re: IE7Pro 1.1 Beta 1 (Internal Beta Only)

In the 1.1 beta, I find that the quality of the thumbnails for Easy Homepage is too degraded.

Typically, the thumbnails (now in .jpg) are only 10% the file size of the original .png files.  The quality difference is very apparent.

Whilst I agree that the files sizes of the original thumbnails was probably too large, cutting the size by 90% is too much.

Please think about finding a compromise that retains quality whilst not consuming too much disk space.
